Depart overnight to Rio de Janeiro
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro, this glamorous city on Guanabara Bay. A private transfer will take you through the city to the famous Copacabana Beach, your base for four nights to get to really know the city. Not only its famous parts but also its nightlife and culture.
Stay at the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro. It’s like a resort hotel in the city, on Copacabana Beach yet a short walk over to the famous and exclusive Ipanema beach.
This afternoon your guide will take you to Sugar Loaf Mountain, take the cable car for amazing views of the city. We think it’s best at sunset when you can see the lights of the city start to shine and can see the silhouette of Christ the Redeemer high on Corcovado hill.
Hotel: Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana
Head out early with your private guide, taking the funicular rail up the steep side of Corcovado mountain behind the city, to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer up close. The views from the top are incredible with all of Rio de Janeiro and her beaches laid below. The scale of Christ the Redeemer is immense so close up, try and fit it all in a selfie…but if you can’t your guide can take a shot for instagram! We’ll get you there before the tours groups arrive, as this wonder of the world is always a busy spot.
Back down amongst the busy streets of the city, you’ll be taken through the bohemian Santa Teresa neighbourhood, and the old city centre, leading to the amazing modernist Cathedral.
Arrive on Flamenco bay for a Brazilian institution, namely a gourmet all-you-can-eat Brazilian barbecue. Huge helpings of the tenderest cuts of meat, 24 hour aged ribs, every cut of steak imaginable…it just keeps coming. Oh and there’s some salad if you need something green on the plate! Take your time in this cool location on the bay, you certainly won’t need dinner.
Later you’ll be dropped off back on Copacabana, for plenty of time to relax at the hotel and go down to the beach to people watch and sport the different tribes, the beach volleyballers, the beach footballers, couples playing paddleboard, surfers and the effortlessly cool guys of Rio hanging out…there’ll even be a few grannies out with little dogs.

Spend the day hanging out in Rio on a free day. You might want to head down to Olympic Boulevard, which is a redeveloped area by the ocean opened in 2016 for the Olympic Games…as the name suggests. The Museum of Tomorrow here is well worth a visit, not only for its amazing architecture but also the unique displays about the environment and future inspirations.
Get ready for the evening and a night out in Rio. Your guide will take you to Lapa neighbourhood, where Cariocas and gringos alike mingle on bustling streets. Enter Rio Scenarium, where different floors move to all kinds of music from around Brazil and the Americas – everything from samba to bossa nova, jazz and reggae. It’s an intoxicating mix and a genuine Rio de Janeiro experience in one of the world’s great party cities.

Fly north to Recife and into tropical Brazil as you head closer to the equator. Fly up Brazil’s extraordinarily long and beautiful coastline, where long stretches of untouched beach are punctuated by just a few busy coastal ports, pretty fishing villages, and fringed by rainforest, mangroves and dunes.
On arrival in Recife, one of Brazil’s oldest cities and a large bustling port, head out of the city with your private guide and drive an hour down the coast into a region of wide, sandy beaches and tempting turquoise seas sprinkled with reefs. The beaches in this region are consistently voted as the best in Brazil, and that’s saying a lot! By the time you arrive at Nannai Resort, you’ll no doubt already be in that tropical, beach-bum state of mind. So no need to rush, just relax amid tropical gardens or in a bungalow with private plunge pool for a 4-night stay.
The stylish suites of Nannai Resort are located along Muro Alto beach, named after the palm tree-lined dunes along this coast. It’s a fantastic beach for swimming and watersports where a sandbar creates a long tidal pool and calm, clear waters. What’s more, the weather is ideal all year round here.
Dinner is included each evening, served by the beachfront restaurant, an excellent buffet choice with seafood and sushi, barbecue grills and plenty of desserts.

Spend the day in that Brazil beach atmosphere. At Nannai it’s the best of both worlds as you are surrounded by beautiful nature yet never far from some Latin American beach style. You can hop in a beach buggy for the 10-minute drive to Porto de Galinhas. It’s one of Brazil’s liveliest beaches, with bar shacks and restaurants and stores to get your best Brazilian bikini or board shorts. It’s always a relaxed and cool vibe, the Brazilians certainly know how to welcome visitors.
From Porto de Galinhas you can also take boats out to see the natural pools and reefs, and a little further down there are some excellent surf beaches.

We fully recommend a day at Pontal Do Maracaipe, where the river meets the sea. Drive back to Recife and fly out into the Atlantic, to the remote island of Fernando de Noronha, located 300 kilometres off Cape Sao Roque on the very northeast tip of Brazil. The island of Fernando de Noronha is the largely untouched centre of an archipelago of 21 islands which are the tops of submerged volcanos. Peaks rise out of equatorial waters, with jungle-clad slopes forming hidden bays just waiting to be discovered.
There are a few inviting and uniquely Brazilian small pousada hotels on the island which is slowly opening up to more visitors. So now is an ideal time to visit and experience an unknown island which remains well off the beaten track. It is ideal for those looking for something a little different, some laid back luxury and to enjoy the beautiful natural environment. Fernando de Noronha certainly rewards those looking to travel that little bit further.
Stay at Pousada Maravilha for four nights, in one of just eight bungalows looking over beautiful Sueste Bay, where a curved deserted beach is framed by green hills and scattered islands. The boutique eco-resort has been built in strict environmental guidelines and blends effortlessly with the get-away-from-it-all nature of Fernando de Noronha.

This is an island for adventure! Seeking out your part of paradise won’t be too hard to find your own deserted spot. It’s easy to explore the whole island at just 18 km square, yet within that, there’s splendid variety. From the pousada, there’s snorkelling, diving and glass-bottomed boat trips, as well as sunset trips to hidden beaches to look out upon the surrounding islands. Or you can head into the lush interior on off-road karts and dive into crystal clear pools.
It’s also just a short drive to the only sleepy town on the island. Here you can enjoy a drink in a bar with a few fellow adventurers. In the evenings, sunset drinks are certainly an occasion before the beautiful stars appear in the big skies. As there’s no light pollution in this remote hideout!

Revel in the quiet solitude and the deserted island nature of Fernando de Noronha. It’s a place for time to pass as slowly as possible. Pamper yourself in the excellent spa, or head out to explore again, there are surprises across the island. In the ocean look for playful dolphins and gentle sea turtles. In the skies, you might see the giant wings of the albatross gliding in the skies.

Enjoy the beautiful nature of the island, far away from the modern world. The island of Fernando de Noronha is truly an escape into a lost eden where time seems to stand still, yet will at the same time surely pass too quickly.
